# YalCity

> YalCity is a 3D educational video game for ages 11–16. Players explore a city and learn real school subjects through personalised missions, from Key Stage 3 to GCSE. YalCity is being built by Yalpop Limited, and founding membership is open for pre-order.

## Key facts
- What it is: a 3D video game where school lessons are built into play. Players explore a city, take on missions and level up by showing they understand a topic, not by clicking through.
- Who it is for: teenagers aged 11–16 (UK school Years 7–11), following the British curriculum from Key Stage 3 through Key Stage 4 and GCSE. Parents and guardians buy and manage the membership.
- Personalised learning: every child has their own profile. Missions, hints and pacing adapt to what they already know and how they like to learn.
- Subjects: released one at a time. Maths first, then Science, then Computing, then a new subject month by month. Every subject released during a member's first year is included.
- Safety and privacy: ad-free, and YalCity never sells or shares families' data.
- Status: in development. The animated city on the website is a preview; the playable game is what members get at launch. No launch date has been announced.

## Founding membership pricing
- Full price: £100 a year.
- Founding discount: 90% off in October, shrinking by 10% each month until the full price applies.
- Price right now (October): £10 for the first year (90% off).
- Family membership: up to 4 children, each with their own profile, for 1.5 times the single price (currently £15 a year, £3.75 per child).
- One payment for the year, no monthly bill. Founders renew at 50% off the full annual price at the time.
- Joining the free waitlist does not take payment or reserve a price.
